Story
Spanner Berg was founded by Loodré “Sakkie” Spangenberg, a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast whose journey began on the racetrack and led to the pinnacle of technical mastery. Growing up surrounded by bikes and the roar of engines, Sakkie developed a passion for motorcycles that has shaped his life and career.
Choosing hands‑on experience over traditional academics, Sakkie joined BMW Motorrad as an apprentice after finishing school. His exceptional skill and commitment saw him rise quickly through the ranks, becoming the youngest BMW Master Technician and later the Workshop Manager at a major dealership. His reputation for excellence and depth of mechanical knowledge earned him respect among riders and industry professionals alike.

SAKKIE
Founder, Master Technician & Chief Problem Solver
If it happens at Spanner Berg, chances are Sakkie is involved.
As the founder of Spanner Berg and a highly experienced Master Motorcycle Technician, Sakkie is the engine behind the workshop. With over 15 years of industry experience, he has built a reputation for precision workmanship, honest advice, and unmatched technical expertise.
But his job title doesn’t stop there. On any given day, Sakkie can be found diagnosing a complex fault, assisting customers, moving bikes, doing quality checks, helping in the wash bay, sweeping the workshop floor, or even making sure everyone has had their coffee.
If something needs doing, Sakkie gets it done.

HENNING
Henning keeps things simple.
He’s the mechanic. That’s what he does. And that’s what he sticks to.
Henning is a skilled and focused technician who prefers spending his time where he works best, in the workshop, with tools in hand and a motorcycle in front of him. He believes in getting the job done properly, with precision, consistency, and zero unnecessary fuss.
But beyond the tools and repairs, Henning is truly the heartbeat of the workshop. While Sakkie may be the engine driving the business forward, without Henning, the workshop simply wouldn’t feel whole.
He brings balance to the team!

ROCHEAL
Receptionist & Front-of-House Superstar
If you contact Spanner Berg, Rocheal is likely the friendly voice or smiling face that welcomes you.
As the receptionist and front-of-house superstar, she keeps the workshop running smoothly behind the scenes while making sure every customer feels right at home from the moment they walk through the door. From bookings and enquiries to managing schedules and keeping the admin side organised.
She brings warmth, professionalism, and just the right amount of structure to keep workshop chaos under control.
And yes, she may be the only lady in the shop, but don’t let that fool you. Rocheal is a rider herself, and she understands the passion, freedom, and lifestyle that come with life on two wheels.

ISLE OF MAN TT
Sakkie’s expertise doesn’t stop at the workshop door. He has also served as the trusted race technician for top riders, including support roles at iconic events like the Isle of Man TT in 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026, where he worked with the South African Isle of Man TT racer AJ Venter from Lekka Racing.
