Our
Story
Spanner Berg was founded by Loodré “Sakkie” Spangenberg, a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast whose journey began on the racetrack and led to the pinnacle of technical mastery. Growing up surrounded by bikes and the roar of engines, Sakkie developed a passion for motorcycles that has shaped his life and career.
Choosing hands‑on experience over traditional academics, Sakkie joined BMW Motorrad as an apprentice after finishing school. His exceptional skill and commitment saw him rise quickly through the ranks, becoming the youngest BMW Master Technician and later the Workshop Manager at a major dealership. His reputation for excellence and depth of mechanical knowledge earned him respect among riders and industry professionals alike.
Sakkie’s expertise doesn’t stop at the workshop door. He has also served as the trusted race technician for top riders, including support roles at iconic events like the Isle of Man TT in 2023, 2024, and 2025 where he worked with AJ Venter from Lekka Racing.
Mr H
Joining Sakkie in this journey is Hennig Viljoen, a trusted colleague and highly skilled technician. Sakkie and Hennig worked together for years, building a strong professional partnership based on shared values, expertise, and a love for motorcycles.
H is known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. With hands-on experience in motorcycle servicing and repairs, he plays a key role in ensuring every bike is worked on with precision and care.
Passionate about motorcycles and the mechanics behind them, Henning takes pride in delivering reliable workmanship and supporting riders in keeping their bikes safe and performing at their best. His practical approach and commitment to quality make him a valuable part of the Spanner Berg team.
Sakkie would not have opened Spanner Berg without Hennig, their teamwork and trust are at the heart of everything the workshop stands for.
